PHOENIX
Area of Use
In a fire situation structural steelwork will begin to lose its strength and ability to support and maintain the structure of the building. Failure to support the structure will take place at temperatures of above 500oC.
By applying an intumescent coating to the steelwork this slows down the rate of heating and increases the time period before failure takes place. This enables the steelwork to achieve the necessary period of fire protection required as laid down by national building regulations or insurance requirements.
